Yet another overdue update

I swear that I always plan to update, but little things keep getting in the way. Maybe I should start carrying a notebook around again.

Family is doing well for the moment, though Dad's health is better some days and worse others. It looks like he's going to have to get his knees replaced soon. My brother and cousin helped me move recently and during the move his temporary prosthetic (sp?) eye popped out. Was both funny and odd at the same time.

The bf and I are doing well, though we had a recent breakdown in communication regarding the kink in our relationship. Hopefully things can be worked out this weekend when he's over.

Christmas is coming up soon and I have none of my gifts bought. Scaling back both on gifts and cards this year, though knowing me I'll end up going over budget. Mom and had a brief conversation on my studying Judaism and that I'm "seeking". I fully expect a two pronged attack from her and my sister regarding returning to the church. Then again maybe I'm not giving them enough credit. Either way, Christmas hasn't had religious meaning for me in years so celebrating with the family doesn't bother me. I am however going to put my mezzuzah up this weekend. Also might try to find a menorah and certainly go to Friday night services. I need to get more involved in Temple life again. Which means getting involved rather than sit on the edge.

I've been trying to get back to doing things I enjoy. So I've been doing some rp-ing on InsaneJournal.com and am making a character for an Earthdawn game a friend is running. Of course I'm playing an Elven Archer. :p

Hopefully things keep getting better.

I usually light my menorah, but since we're traveling this weekend I'll have to miss the first couple of nights this year. *sigh* (Yeah, yeah, I know, I'm pagan, but my dad was Jewish, and I was Christian for 12 years, so I'm kinda an equal opportunity celebrant...)

Glad things sound like they're going well. :) See ya in February!
